Oke, this is probably a strange poll, but let me explain first.
I want a new sword of 200 gold. I only have 180 gold, which is offcource not enough. But my old sword I have should be returned for 40 golds.
So, i give back my old sword, get 40 golds which makes 220 gold total. And then buy the new sword of 200 (In the same transaction).
In the original Zeliard this was not possible. You should have 200 golds before getting the new sword. After getting the sword, I get the 40 golds back for the old one. Isnt this a little strange?
What do you guys think of this?

Gonna repeat what I did in the other topic mate. It would make sense and be handy, but from a balance point of view, the game tries to keep you tied to a certain level until you've been there long enough - to find farming spots, explore the maze, collect items, generally progress through most of the level - and only then do you have enough gold to buy the best gear available before facing the boss.
Also of course you'd need to be economical - for example farm monsters that drop highest almas on average, once you have the keys, shoes, etc, then go exchange in bosque (unless you're on the last level and can go esco), run back with silkarn/pirika/feruza shoes enabled shortcuts.
But the game is not centered around farming - as you explore and learn, gather necessary items and so on, you will already generate a nice sum of almas for that level - but you should still make the exchange 1:8. The more almas you have, the more of an impact. Compare this to Tumba or Llama exchange rates, or even Helada (Dorado is 1:4 or 1:6? I forgot). Kioku feather out to muralla, go bosque (This is easy, especially after Dorado's silkarn shoes). Profit. Enough to buy your new shiny items? ;D
Back to the point - the game can definitely be finished fast and by using shortcuts, but if you are new, or a perfectionist, you'd generally like to have all the gear you can get before progressing. With your idea, you could cut the necessary time spent at each level by the amount of the sellback - which is pretty big later on. This shouldn't subtract from the actual time you spend playing the level - and in extension, the game.
At least in the original I wouldn't change it. Most of those who will play the flash have played the game, so either way if you ask me. But the way they originally made it is fine by me.

Hey Jashiin,
I saw your text, and would like to add some comments to it.
Example: Your gold: 180 golds. Price new sword: 200 golds refund prince old sword: 40 golds
The weapon guy will say something like this when you try to buy a new sword:
"Oh, the <blabla> sword? That will be 200 golds. I'll give you 40 golds on your old weapon ad trade-in. Will that be alright?"
If you have only 100 golds, the weapon master will say the same, but after you choose yes, he will say "I am sorry sir, but you dont have enough gold bla bla bla".
In the original Zeliard the weapon master will say immidiatly "i am sorry", when you choose a weapon you cant afford.
Does this make sense?

I originally replied to this when I saw the topic name and felt the urge... I feel like a dumbass now =P. That idea would be cool yes. How hard is it to code?
