I also thought first of princess Felicia as a candidate.to protagonists. Alternatively, Duke Garland might find that all sacred lands form a ring which is teared apart by the forces of darkness, and once he clears them, they will merge into bigger shining world, where he could meet his Felicia again with ease (after all, Zeliard is quite a small country, as for my impression - Duke Garland left it while sun was rising). Happy end. And Zeliard 3 will be about children of them.

as a variant of the female version of the passage of the game, the princess, without waiting for the hero from the first part, at that moment had already replaced her deceased father on the throne (who drank poison from a poisoned source (blue liquid), which caused him to prematurely fade), putting on a winged helmet and picking up his father's sword, hitting the road. (After becoming a ruler, she was forced to fall into the military craft (supplemented by her natural potential as a magical mystic)) The hero from the first part could not return due to falling into a cunning trap, doomed to fight for his life and eat "snails" forever, in useless hopes of waiting for someone's help, but his many years of training hide the secret of the ability or subject of the second part.
