Attached is a screenshot from my inbox, it's a reply from Game Arts when I asked them about the rights to Zeliard, and if I could even get their blessing to create a remake if I was unable to secure rights explicitly. The email reads: This is incredibly disappointing for me, as I'm sure it will be to anyone who wanted to do anything with what we would otherwise consider Abandonware. Ultimately this means that the name Zeliard, the characters and the names of the items, magics, bosses, caverns and towns are all off-limits, as are the assets including sounds and music. But if you wanted to create a game with a similar story, similar gameplay and similar levels, you would be at liberty to do so. It would just need to be different enough to be considered to have been influenced by but not copied from Zeliard. Attachments:

this is the problem of all old games, even here in Russia, license holders are very reluctant to make contact with those who want to make a continuation of such a game as Allods (maybe they are familiar with its foreign interpretation of Rage Of Mages), what to say about other countries ..
